Formerly Forest - A modern folk project
Formerly Forest is a project by Daniel Reed (sindirt on youtube).
The Formerly Forest project has been around for almost nine years, and been heard mostly in small corners of downtowns and on various campus locations. However, the project has grown some publicity over the last couple of years. Daniel splintered off from previous projects to spearhead writing and singing, eventually finding his own musical path of acoustic alternative, following in the footsteps of Jay Farrar, Ani Difranco and Shannon Hoon, his biggest musical influences.
Daniel has released two albums: "Balloons in Gloom" and "Three Days" as well as the singles “Sleep it Off” and “Balloons in Gloom”.
The music is raw and acoustic because Daniel doesn't require a band to hide behind. Daniel's vocals carry the music from start to finish. That is not to say however, that there is no accompaniment, as there are a many tracks that Daniel used his iconic Hagstrom and lets the electric guitar out of it's case.
